I have a few noteworthy updates that I'd like to mention, starting with: I got a laptop and that excites me. I've been trying to figure out different tips and tricks to make navigating with a touchpad easier and I'm enjoying it so far. It runs Windows 11 which I'm familiar enough with, I suppose. I've only ever really used Windows and I fear that learning a new operating system will be super overwhelming, lol. But now that I have a laptop, I can write more often using a keyboard which is the most ergonomic for me. I cannot stand typing with my thumbs anymore and I find myself abandoning my phone around the house when I'm not actively using it. So hopefully this laptop proves to be useful for what I want out of it. It seems to be able to run Toontown: Corporate Clash at the very least when it comes to gaming, but that's not why I bought it.
Something else is that due to it being December, the weather is terribly cold. I'm used to some really cold weather after living 10+ years in the Pacific northwest but I'm not sure what to expect in our new home on the east coast. I know for sure that I'll need to invest in a decent snow shovel so I can keep our driveway and walkway clear at the very least. My household has started firing up the pellet stove recently to combat the chilliness and to at least have one warm area we can all huddle up in. I generally dislike the winter because it is cold to the point that it can be hazardous to go out and can even cause problems within the home; not to mention that my depression gets significantly worse this time of year. I'm hoping that blogging and sharing my thoughts with people that I care about will help me to ward off the depression at least a little bit.
I've done some basic research on how to get a comment system working and it seems more convoluted than I'm willing to put time into right now - but I will likely figure something out eventually. I would enjoy being able to allow my family to create comments on my posts, and I thought I liked the idea of people commenting in real-time, but I'd prefer to approve each comment now that I think about it. I likely will not reject any but I'd still like to make sure everyone is only seeing comments from people I approve of being on the site. People on the internet can be mean! Hopefully I manage to avoid those people.
My plan is to spend part of my day today researching how to improve this website a bit more. The layout really needs work so that it's not so difficult to read text if its on a large screen or something. I have no idea what I'm doing as you might be able to tell. :)
See ya later. Take care of yourselves!
